Lights automatically on when it gets dark?
      1. Make Automation
      1. Create a smart setting.

Click in the bottom center on "Smart". Press on the "+" in the upper right corner to create a smart setting.

      2. Add condition
      2. Add a condition

Click on the blue "+" in the condition field. Select "Sunrise/Sunset". Press on "Sunset" and chose your location.
If you use your current location, the lights will go on exactly when the sun sets at your location. Our experience shows that most people want to have their lights turned on before the sun completely sets. If you want this too, we recommend dragging the location to the east (as the sun sets earlier in the east) to make sure that the lights are on before it gets too dark. Press "Next" in the upper right corner.

Give the automation a recognizable name, for example "Lights on when dark". It is possible to change the style of the this automation (the color how it appears in the app) . Furthermore, you can edit the effective period. If you only want this automation active on weekdays, you can disable it for Saturday and Sunday.
      Click on "Save"

      Reverse
Lights off when the sun rises.

If you want to make an automation where the lights get turned off when the sun rises, follow the same steps but choose the opposite setting. "Sunset" becomes "Sunrise"; Drag your location somewhat more to the west instead of the east to make sure the lights get turned off when it is about 30 minutes after sunrise; And the plug's switch should be "OFF" instead of "ON".

      Talo Smart Plug:

Yes you can. In the app, you can easily set up the times on which the smart plug turns on or off.

Tip! Use the Talo Smart Plug for the lights in the house, and use the sunrise/sunset function to turn the lights on or off based on sunlight. In the winter, the sun sets earlier than in the summer. By making an automation based on the sunset/sunrise, you will never have to change the timer.

Yes, our Talo Smart Plugs are specially designed so that you can simply use all sockets. We see that many other smart plugs are a lot wider, so you can use fewer sockets. That is not a smart solution, of course. We made sure that you don't have to worry about it with us.
